Mission
In dependence upon God, through Gospel proclamation, relationship and example we desire to enter into the lives of skateboarders and other 'core' sports participants in a culturally relevant way to present an accurate picture of Jesus Christ resulting in the winning of souls and transformation of their lives.

Vision
The reduction of our rented skate park space from 11,000 square feet to 7,600 square feet has significantly reduced the number of skaters using the facility and hearing the Gospel.

Our short-term vision is to raise 3.5 million dollars to build a 30,000+ square foot core sports facility in Portland by September 2010. This expansion plan would greatly increase our floor space and our ability to attract and reach many more skaters for whom Christ died.

In addition, this will develop both the effectiveness of our current ministry and our effectiveness in continued planting and mobilizing core sports ministries across the US and worldwide.

Objective
Skatechurch's vision is manifested in five ways:

  1. Spread the gospel to skateboarders and other 'core' sport participants in a culturally relevant manner.
  2. Provide a safe and friendly environment for skaters.
  3. Provide a short- and long-term framework to successfully replicate our ministry in other communities with a similar need.
  4. Provide a positive and Christ-honoring environment for at-risk youth that will transform lives and souls.
  5. Maintain a financially responsible non-profit organization to ensure long-term viability and ongoing support of our youth outreach programs.
